The Design Process
The whole idea of Garden Design can seem a little…intimidating. Please don’t let that put you off, I try to make this as easy as possible, where you may see problems I see solutions. Starting with a chat to open up ideas, dreams, desires, to deliver a “living room” for your lifestyle.
How it works
The way I do things may be a little different or even old fashioned, but I like to get to know you, what you want, what you like, and what you want from your space, and I want to get to know your space. This is often the start of a journey from dream to reality.
Whilst I am more than happy to be given a brief and a budget, decades of experience has shown me that at the right stages, communication on design between us is key to getting it right. It’s incredibly normal for you to see your garden in a different light either at the design stage or during the build and change should be a part of that. It’s your project, “do it right, do it once”, is an old saying that I live by. I have built as many if not more gardens than I have designed, and my “hands-on experience” influences every design as I understand how gardens are built, not just how to make them look good on paper.
This journey normally involves a few steps and meetings and emails, where we get to know each other, materials, concepts and an approach to the design. I will normally consult with you during my initial design stages, it’s normal for me to have a few ways of approaching the garden and normal for you to have a say. This can develop from my measuring and scale drawing / materials lists / planting plans to full ground surveys / CAD / Drone Work - but simple effective working plans are by far the most popular !!!
We have a relationship with Coomers Ltd. and have an indoor showroom at Coomers Ltd. Alton Branch, with private parking where we can discuss materials and develop your ideas further.
