A Lifetime Working With Gardens
Gardens have not always been the obvious path for Christian Dupont, Director of M N B Designs Ltd. With an early background in art and design, and time spent working in creative industries, it became clear that the most rewarding work was not behind a camera, but outdoors, working with natural spaces.
That realisation led to more than 30 years of hands-on experience across nurseries, estates, landscaping projects and horticultural roles. Alongside his MCIHort PGG qualifications, this developed into a deeper understanding of how gardens are built, how they grow and how they are used in everyday life.
Today, Christian’s experience forms the foundation of every MNB Designs project, combining creative thinking with practical horticultural knowledge to create gardens that feel natural, balanced and built to last.
What Shapes Our Approach
Specialist Knowledge & Real-World Experience
Following a period of recovery from injury, formal training at Sparsholt College allowed a deeper focus on aquatic horticulture, specialising in water features and pond construction. Achieving distinction and working with public aquaria further expanded both technical knowledge and practical experience.
This specialist background, combined with years of hands-on landscaping work, allows MNB Designs to approach projects with a level of understanding that goes beyond general landscaping. From planting schemes to water features and structural design, every element is considered as part of a complete garden.
From Experience to Leadership
As experience developed, this naturally led to a leadership role within a landscaping and amenity horticulture business, overseeing projects, teams, and client relationships.
This period added another layer of understanding, not just in how gardens are built, but in how projects are managed, planned, and delivered properly. It reinforced the importance of communication, trust, and attention to detail throughout every stage of a project.
Based at Hillier Garden Centre, Liss
MNB Designs is now based at Hillier Garden Centre in Liss, marking a full-circle return to a place where much of that early experience was developed.
Working from Hillier provides access to high-quality plants, trusted suppliers, and a practical environment where ideas can be explored in real terms rather than on paper. It also allows clients to meet, discuss projects, and view materials in a relaxed and knowledgeable setting.
A Thoughtful Approach to Every Garden
MNB Designs is not a volume-based landscaping business. Every project is approached individually, with time taken to understand how a space will be used and how it will develop over time.
The focus is always on getting things right, combining design, horticulture, and practical experience to create gardens that feel natural, functional, and long-lasting.
