Water Features & Garden Ponds

Water brings movement, sound, and life to a garden. Thoughtfully designed ponds and water features create calm, natural spaces that evolve and mature over time.

Designed With Specialist Knowledge

Water features and garden ponds require careful planning and specialist knowledge. When designed correctly, they become a natural focal point and an important part of the garden’s ecosystem.

At MNB Designs, water features are shaped by over 30 years of horticultural and aquatic experience. Led by Christian Dupont, our approach considers planting, wildlife, filtration, and long-term maintenance from the very beginning.

Whether creating a wildlife pond, a formal water feature, or a naturalistic garden pond, thoughtful planning ensures the result is both beautiful and sustainable.

Experience That Sets Us Apart

Designing water features requires more than installation knowledge. It requires an understanding of aquatic planting, water balance, and long-term development.

With over three decades of experience working with ponds, aquatic planting, and water features, Christian Dupont brings specialist knowledge that is rarely found in general landscaping businesses.

This experience helps ensure ponds and water features develop naturally, remain healthy, and continue to enhance your garden over time.

Water Features Designed as Part of the Garden

Water features work best when they are integrated into the overall garden design. Planting, levels, and surrounding materials all influence how a pond or feature feels within the space.

At MNB Designs, water features are designed as part of the wider garden, ensuring they feel natural, balanced, and suited to your outdoor environment.

Supporting Wildlife & Natural Balance

Well-designed ponds can support a wide range of wildlife, including birds, insects, and amphibians. They also help create calm, reflective spaces that enhance the atmosphere of a garden.

Whether you prefer a wildlife-focused pond or a more formal feature, thoughtful planning ensures the space works both visually and environmentally.

Water Features & Garden Ponds FAQs

Do I need a pond or water feature?

It’s always down to you but I like to recommend these as an addition as they bring noise, attraction and a whole new and differing eco-system to your back garden. A gentle water feature helps though its soothing sounds and ponds bring wildlife unseen otherwise.

Do you build wildlife ponds?

Are not all ponds wildlife ponds? If you have a body of water then it will bring all sorts of new fauna to the garden from Dragon and Damsel flies to Newts and Frogs.

Can you fix my pump and filter?

As an award winning student in aquaculture at Sparsholt college many moons ago I am happy to come and have a look and see what we can do for you.

What affects the cost of a pond or water feature?

Water is one of the more complex elements to work with in a garden. It will always find its own level and its own path, so if it isn’t handled correctly from the start, it can quickly become difficult to manage.

The cost reflects the need to get the groundwork, structure, and detailing right from the beginning. When designed and built properly, a pond or water feature becomes a long-term asset to the garden rather than something that causes ongoing issues.

Can you fill my pond in and re-home my fish?

Whilst we never like to see ponds disappear from gardens, we understand that sometimes circumstances dictate this to be the best course of action and so we will help as best we can.
